Scarlett Jones may dress like a man, fight like a man, even swear like one, but at the end of the day, she’s a woman—on a pirate ship in the year 1716. 

With the War of the Spanish Succession at an end, and privateering no longer lawful, pirates have turned their backs on government and begun a reign of terror in the Caribbean. One such pirate was kind enough to take Scarlett in as a young girl after a tragedy at sea left her destitute and alone.
